Like many product manufacturers, Case-Mate produces their products using cheap Asian labor – as this video clearly shows.

To make matters worse, the video directs users to imakemycase.com, a website where visitors design their own phone cases. As if cheap Asian labor wasn’t enough, they force average Americans like you and I to work for them for free! Outrage. I’ll probably make one and buy it.

Colenso BBDO hypes Frucor’s V Guarana Energy Drink with some dangerous-looking stunts featuring a burdgeoning spin-off of parkour called pomparkour. Pomparkour combines the use of hooked ladders to climb buildings (the French art of Pompier) with urban exploration (the French art of Parkour).

Scintillating stuff that is apparently more real than fake. Too bad I’m more interested in buying one of those ladders than the energy drink. Learn more about the campaign at StopPress.

Anyway, the first thing I’d like to highlight is this excellent print campaign from AT&T. Despite the advance-ness of their services, the campaign is is pretty much a total old-school setup.

One headline, one central image with the product prominently displayed, and some supporting text. Wash, rinse, repeat. But what I like about it, well, is that it’s also old-school in that it throws back, way back, to when ads were hand-painted pieces of art. I love that at some point, AT&T’s agency would have had to say, “Well, we’ll need some top-notch painters to do this…” and then they still went ahead with it. I love seeing stuff that clearly took time and love to create, for a big and fast-moving global company.

And I don’t even like bagels, which clearly are the high maintenance cousins of donuts. You gotta love the simplicity of donuts. With bagels, you’ve gotta have a knife around to cut ‘em in half, then you’ve gotta have some cream cheese available to spread around, then you have to chew a billion times just so they’re soft enough to go down the pipes, then you have to slap yourself for not buying donuts which would’ve saved yourself all the trouble. Really, eating bagels is like self-flagellation compared to eating donuts. They’re like celery… you’d die of starvation if you were stuck on an island with them. Boy, this is going off on a tangent.
