A true viral, millions of folks have already seen the Levi’s-sponsored ‘Walk Across America’ stop-motion video. The video took 14 days and 2,770 still shots from a Canon EOS 5D Mark II. To make up for being late to the game, I give you the Making Of as a bonus.
From The Daily Mail. PS: The video’s’ soundtrack is “Home” by the incredible Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, who clocked in at #2 on my favorite albums of 2009.
Cyriak Harris returns with more of his twisted brand of dementia. I love his stuff so much, I worry what that says about me. From Motionographer.
A simple heartwarming story about a boy and his AT-AT. Must be one of them newfangled genetically engineered breeds.
Love this commercial. Where the Hell Is Matt comparisons not withstanding; it’s beautifully shot and full of buoyant energy, and it has a great soundtrack by Emiliana Torrini (an Icelandic artist of course). But will I ever visit Iceland? Heck no! People have to dance 24/7 just so they don’t freeze to death!
By Íslenska Auglýsingastofan (yes, that’s the agency’s name. NEVER play an Icelander in Scrabble).
Cameos abound in this slick long-form World Cup spot. Even Harrison Ford makes an appearance!
By AdAge finalist for Agency of the Year, Sid Lee.
The Sapporo brewing process is revealed through this amazing spot by agency Dentsu, Canada. If it looks familiar, the spot was created as a collaboration between production houses Crush, Sons and Daughters, and Marco Brambilla, the man responsible for the incredible Civilization video for Standard Hotel in NYC.
From Ads of the World.
Scooped from glossy: A fantastic 2:00 short film for Euro RSCG’s Let’s Colour Project. The spot features 120 different colours, a great soundtrack with Jonsi’s Go Do, and 650 hardworking people from Brazil, France, India, and London. It’s the best combination of advertising and public service I’ve seen this year.
Oh, and it’s directed by Adam Berg, the man behind one of the greatest spots in history, Philips Carousel. If you’ve never seen it, please leave this blog and never come back. But before you do, watch it at the bottom of this post.
This is what advertising should be. A big-budget long-form commercial for Das Handwerk (an organization that promotes German craftsmanship), Craft is rousing, funny, clever and insightful, and set to the perfect whimsical musical accompaniment. The rough copy translation: “What is life without craftsmanship?”
Mark it down for a Clio/Gold Lion/Gold Pencil, etc. By Scholz & Friends, Berlin.
A hunter. A bear. Murder. Suicide. All in 8-bits.
This is drama at its finest, folks.
By Christen Bach, via Motionographer.
Mold monsters frolic and battle in this experimental video created by Humble TV, a film and television production company. Decomposition has never been more fun!
